A bit about me…. the boring stuff

I worked for NATS (National Air Traffic Control Service) throughout my working life, initially as qualified Air Traffic Controller at Heathrow and later in my career managed teams of Air Traffic Control Staff at both Heathrow and West Drayton.  In my last few years, I was responsible for Air Traffic Controller manpower planning. I retired in 2006 and now devote much of my time to our wonderful Millstream Centre.

Key skills

Managing, organising, supporting and coaching people along with some IT and administration expertise

More about me …the Important Stuff

A local boy, brought up in Ipsden, moved away for a few years and in 1975 moved to Benson with my family to be near family and friends. I now spend a quarter of my time at our lodge near Lyme Regis.

I love the outdoor life, including gardening and my special hobbies are photographing vintage aircraft and metal detecting. I ran events for the Oxford blues metal detecting club for many years and am still a member.

At Millstream

I became involved with the Millstream in 2011, initially running our 400 Club draw, then joining the Millstream Operations Committee. In 2015 I was heavily involved in creating our new constitution and became a trustee.

During the pandemic I help set up and chaired a Liaison Committee comprising many relevant organisations in the village which still meets today and fulfils a valuable networking and supportive role.

I have now been Chair of our charity for the last few years and see my role as helping steer our future and supporting our wonderful staff on a day-to-day basis.
