The Centre opens three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for customers from 11:00 am until 1.30pm, providing support, companionship, a home cooked lunch, entertainment and activities.
On Tuesday mornings we also open for “Millstream Mugs”, with Maggie – refreshments, conversation, and a ‘warm’ room, all are welcome, 10:30am – 12pm
Our Millstream@Home service delivers home-cooked hot meals 3 days a week for those unable to attend. Get in touch to find out more.
Benson Millstream Centre was established in the 1980’s taking over part of a larger building which included sheltered accommodation owned by our local authority and subsequently the South Oxfordshire Housing Association, our present landlord. The setting up of our Charity was a great collaborative and fundraising effort by the community and included two significant donations of founders’ capital.
Benson Millstream Centre is a hub of activity – our purpose is bringing seniors together, maintaining independence, enjoying companionship, lovely meals and having fun with the many activities that take place. We have so much going on, from creative work to health and well-being and everything in between. It has a real buzz and fun and enjoyment are a way of life for our Customers.
For those that can’t join us we offer a hot meal delivery.
Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we provide a healthy two-course home-cooked meal, and a delivery service for those unable to attend the centre.
We offer a safe environment for seniors to meet new people and connect with other members of the community. why not try one of our free taster sessions which gives you the opportunity to see what we do and who we are.
Providing activities is an important part of what we do at the Centre and has proven health benefits for our customers. Our activities include speakers and entertainment, visits from local childminders, bell ringing, games and crafts. We try to celebrate events throughout the year, as well as birthdays and milestones.
Millstream Mugs is our community coffee morning, held every Tuesday from 10:30am – 12pm. It’s a very relaxed drop-in club, which welcomes everyone for coffee and a friendly chat. Run by Maggie Black (on the left in the picture), the club is a great way to socialise and meet local people.
